We are in-network providers for PacificSource health and vision plans. PacificSource is a medical insurance plan that also offers a routine vision insurance plan, however they are transitioning their routine vision plans over to another company called Vision Service Plan (VSP) for the routine vision care part of the coverage they offer while continuing to offer health insurance as PacificSource.
What that means for you is that if you visit our office for medical eye care, such as an eye infection or eye disease, then you would be covered under PacificSource itself. If, on the other hand, your visit is for routine vision services such as an eye exam to find a prescription to correct nearsightedness or farsightedness, then your coverage will likely be through Vision Service Plan instead of through PacificSource directly. We are also in-network providers for Vision Service Plan, so you will still be covered at our office whether your benefits are through PacificSource directly or not.
Because of the transition between plans, and because not all PacificSource health plans will include vision coverage as a part of your benefits, it is important that you complete the insurance section of our online patient form located on the right of the menu bar at the top of this page marked, “ONLINE FORM.” This way, we will be able to verify your insurance coverage before your visit so you will be able to know your visit will be covered, and so you will be able to make the most of your vision benefits.
Generally your vision benefits through PacificSource will include: coverage for your eye exam with just a small copay, coverage for contact lens evaluation with a copay, and an allowance to be used towards the purchase of eyeglasses or contact lenses. If you have any questions regarding your insurance benefits, please contact our office and we will be happy to assist you.
