Hand Welding of Japanese Glasses

This week we’re in Japan visiting eyeglass frame factories and designers.  In this video they’re welding together pieces of a titanium frame by hand.  You can see the hoses that suck the air away so a strong weld can be made.  I’ll put sub-titles on this one when I have a chance, but mostly what we’re talking about is the different types of titanium, and the qualities they have such as differences in strength and flexibility that allow for the frame to be strong yet balanced and flexible.
