Moda
We are in-network providers for Moda Health insurance plans. Moda was formerly called ODS Health (Oregon Dental Society) and some patients may still have a card that says ODS. Moda is a health insurance plan that may also include routine vision coverage as part of the plan. However, in some cases, when you have Moda Health for your medical insurance, Moda will outsource your routine vision benefits to another company (usually VSP). Therefore, it is important that you completely fill out your insurance information on the new patient registration online form so we can have your benefits verified for you before your visit. You can reach our new patient online registration page by clicking on the link marked “ONLINE FORM” at the right of the menu bar at the top of this page.
If your vision benefits are through Moda Health insurance you will likely have an allowance that you can apply toward exam services as well as the purchase of contact lenses or eyeglasses. If your benefits are through another company, such as VSP, you will then generally have copays for your eye exam and contact lens services with an allowance toward your purchase of eyeglasses or contact lenses. We are happy to help you get the most out of your vision benefits and allowances by breaking down the cost for various services and products so you can see just how much of your allowance you are using. Because your benefits generally renew every year, it is generally to your advantage to use all of your allowance each plan year.
On a personal note. While we enjoy working with local companies, and Moda is headquartered in Portland, Oregon, we are still getting over the Rose Garden being renamed as the Moda center. We liked the name of the Rose Garden and I suppose we’ll get used to the Moda Center, but it’s going to take us a while.
