We are in-network Superior Vision providers at Portland Eye Care. This means that when you use your Superior Vision plan benefits at our office, you will only be responsible for any applicable co-pays or amounts over your allowance for your eye exam, eyeglasses, or contact lenses. Generally, with your Superior Vision plan, you will have a copay for your eye examination and an allowance to use towards the purchase of eyeglasses. If you are a contact lens wearer, there will generally be an additional copay for your contact lens evaluation and you will usually have an allowance towards the purchase of contact lenses.
While your benefits will depend on your specific plan, often they will cover basic lenses in full with no copay. Generally, any upgrades such as bifocal lenses, progressive lenses, or freeform digital lenses will require additional copays. Lens coatings such as premium anti-scratch coatings or anti-reflective coatings will also usually require additional co-pays.
While we will always be able to help you decide on the features that will be the most important for your prescription and visual requirements, you can also visit the eyeglasses page on our website to learn about different kinds of eyeglass lenses so you will be prepared to select the features that are most important to you in your eyeglasses.
If you have Superior Vision as your vision plan, please make sure to include this information along with any identification number and the name of the primary Superior Vision plan subscriber when you fill out our online form. This will allow us to have your benefits verified before your visit so we can help you to make the most of your Superior Vision benefits at the time of your exam. To access this form, just click on ONLINE FORM located on the right side of the menu bar at the top of this page.
